Obasanjo Is Nigeria’s Worst Leader Since Independence, Says Orji Kalu

Must read

Former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, yesterday (Tuesday) stated that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is the worst leader Nigeria has had since its independence in 1960.

Kalu said this while speaking at an annual lecture organised by the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka .

He said “Obasanjo is the worst President Nigeria has ever produced since our independence. Instead of generating employment opportunities, he was busy closing down peoples businesses.

“He closed down Hallmark Bank and Slok Air that would have provided so many employment opportunities for our youth.”

He said the closing down of these two companies were efforts put in place by Obasanjo to deal with him, while also saying that the closure of these two companies slowed down the employment opportunities he (Kalu) would have created for Nigerians.

On a final note, he urged government at all levels to initiate entrepreneurship programmes that would help to empower the youths in the country in order to achieve economic development and stability.

He said “If there is no economic stability in the world, there will be no political stability.”
