Former Governor Isiaka Adeleke of Osun State on Thursday collected the expression of interest form to pick the All Progressives Congress ticket to contest the Osun West Senatorial poll in 2015.
The former governor, who defected to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party shortly before the August 9 governorship poll in the state visited the APC secretariat along Osogbo-Gbongon Road to pick the form.
Adeleke arrived at the secretariat amidst fanfare but he refused to speak with journalists after picking the forms.
The Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Peter Babalola, is also being rumoured to be jostling to pick the lone senatorial ticket to represent the zone.
The race in Osun West Senatorial District will be tough since the incumbent senator representing the zone, Mudashir Hussein, is also seeking to return to the Senate.
Hussein had in 2011 contested and defeated Adeleke but some of the leaders of the APC in the state are of the opinion that this time around with Adeleke, the contest would be a very tough one.
