No fewer than 14 persons have been feared killed and 230 cattle rustled in Yelwa town, Shendam and Jos East local government areas of Plateau State by unknown gunmen
The gunmen struck Yelwa village in the early hours of Monday morning and killed about 12 persons and also rustled about 200 cattle.
In a related development, unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen also attacked Babayo-Zarazong village in Jos East Local and Government Area of the state, killing two persons and burning 15 houses.
Another source from Shendam said, the gunmen who came in large number were heavily armed with dangerous weapons and started shooting sporadically and burning houses in the early hours of the morning.
State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Emmanuel Abu confirmed that there was an attack in Shendam and persons were killed, but added that he was not sure of the exact number of those who lost their lives.
